A Note from our Music Minister Mark Kuroski
Hi Everyone, Spring is here!
What’s your favorite part of spring in Texas? Mine has got to be all of the wildflowers along the roads and in the fields. It’s amazing to me how just a few weeks ago everything was looking brown and dead, and now green is everywhere mixed with the purples, oranges, and yellows of the wildflowers!
I’m sure you’ve been hearing a lot these days about “AI” (artificial intelligence) and possibly ChatGPT as well. Out of curiosity I decided to ask ChatGPT to write a hymn praising the Lord for the beauty of spring. I was pretty shocked by what it presented!
Here is what I asked of it…”Please write lyrics for a hymn about spring and praising the Lord for everything that is beautiful about spring sharing our thanks for the beauty of the world around us.” Below is what it provided which sounds like it would be a pretty nice hymn/song. I’m going to try to put this to music and maybe we can sing it as a hymn this spring!
(Verse 1) In fields adorned with blooms so fair, Spring whispers of the Father’s care. Each blossom sings a song of praise, To Him who guides our wandering ways.
(Chorus) Praise be to the Lord, whose hand we see, In every bud, in every tree. In fields of green, in skies so blue, We lift our hearts in thanks to you.
(Verse 2) The gentle breeze, the warming sun, Declare the work that You have done. From barren earth, new life does spring, A wondrous gift, Your love does bring.
(Bridge) As nature wakes from winter’s sleep, Your promises our hearts do keep. In every flower, in every song, We see Your grace, O Lord, so strong.
(Verse 3) So let us join creation’s praise, In joyful hymns our voices raise. For all the beauty that surrounds, In springtime’s grace, Your love abounds.
