When One Door Closes, Another Door Opens

As I sat down to write this month’s article, I was reminded once again just how quickly this year has
flown by. How is it already July? Everyone is in full summer mode with trips to the pool, trips to the
beach, trips to visit family and friends and for those of us in Central Texas, we are just trying to stay
cool in these record-breaking Texas temperatures. July isn’t typically known for change, but I would be
remiss if I didn’t share a tad of all the happenings around CCC! As the adage goes, “when one door
closes, another one opens!”

The Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts has made the difficult decision to close down
their school and not return in the Fall so they are busy clearing out their things and have donated a ton
of items to our upcoming garage sale. Although ASPVA will not offer their current format, they will still
be offering a host of workshops and camps just as they did previously and we pray for their next
chapter as they continue to serve artistic students.

Likewise, both members and friends of CCC have been busy purging their closets, drawers, garages
and more, we have been doing the same. We have cleaned out many closets and purged many items
that will be for sale in the upcoming garage sale. This garage sale is sure to be the biggest ever!! We
have treasures of all kinds.

As a church rich in space, our Trustees and Property Team are in conversation with multiple potential
renters, and we eagerly await those announcements. Meanwhile, we are relocating classrooms and
moving things about so that our spaces are set up to be shared space with whomever comes
alongside us.

Speaking of space, our Vision Team for the development of our parking lot has completed their work
and the Action Team is in the process of being formed. Fantastic ideas were shared through the
numerous roundtable conversations that were hosted by the Vision Team. Now, we eagerly await
upcoming information regarding the development of our current flat top parking lot through our Action
Team.

So, as one door closes and we stand in the hallway waiting for the next door to open, please join me in
prayer for our church and those who will come alongside us. Change is challenging but with prayer
and faith in our purpose as God’s people, the next door will open to amazing opportunities.

In prayer,
Pastor Heidi
