Layne was born in Ohio, and has lived in Chicago and Southern California before recently moving here to Austin to join the Central Christian community. He received both his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from The Claremont School of Theology, in Claremont California. An ordained Disciples of Christ minister, Layne has served as a congregational pastor since 2007. He enjoys the give-and-take of congregational ministry, finding that congregants minister to him and provide spiritual stimulation and growth opportunities for him as much as he might provide the same for them. He is married to Michyl-Shannon Quilty, and has one adult son, Shayne. Layne believes that Jesus and God are busy out in the streets and in other settings beyond our church walls.

Reverend Heidi Bounds
Associate Minister
Heidi Bounds serves as the Associate Minister at Central Christian Church, where she has been a devoted member of the ministry team since 2009. A lifelong Austinite, Heidi married her high school sweetheart, Brad, who also shares equally deep roots in the Austin community.
Throughout her time at Central Christian, Heidi has served in several key roles, beginning as the Director of Christian Education, then as Program Director, and now as Associate Minister. She holds a Master of Divinity from Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and completed the ordination journey with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), becoming ordained clergy in the Spring of 2025.
Heidi has a heart for mission work, both locally and globally, and has participated in ten mission trips. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband around the world, taking time to learn about the cultures, histories, and communities they encounter.

Music Director
Mark Kuroski
Mark, a native of Wisconsin, comes to us recommended by Dallas Heenan, our recently retired Director of Music. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theater and has been singing in our choir for approximately 6 months. Mark definitely has a passion for people and helping others. He spent time working with the people of Borneo, Indonesia and helped create an orangutan sanctuary because of deforestation. He is also full of fresh ideas and open minded to carrying the music ministry of the church into this new time in the history of Central.
Wedding Coordinator
Judye Moore-Heim
Since 2011 Judye Moore-Heim has served as wedding coordinator for Central Christian Church. She is very committed to the Wedding Ministry and every year the wedding ministry continues to grow under her leadership. Judye’s goal for every couple is to help make sure their wedding experience at Central Christian is filled with many wonderful memories. Judye currently serves as a Central Christian Church treasurer and has done so for a total of 9 years. Judye works to help each couple find a welcoming church home for their wedding. During her tenure, Judye has helped hundreds of couples coordinate the ceremony that best fits their needs.

Monica Ross
Monica has a servant's heart! After years in the human resources profession, she spent the last few years managing and organizing Operation Liberty Hill's Food Pantry. At the pantry, she found joy in giving back to the community by fighting to end food scarcity and being a prayer warrior for the clients. She is thrilled to share her knowledge and expertise with Central Christian Church as our administrative professional.
Monica is the mother of adult twins, native Austinite, and true to the city, loves small music festivals...especially Bluegrass!
