Opportunities to be the Hands and Feet of Christ

Opportunities to be the Hands and Feet of Christ

Summer is here! Well, not officially yet that is not until June 21st , but school is out and
vacations, summer camps, and the days of rushing to various activities have subsided. However,
this summer is shaping up to be a busy few months around CCC and your participation and
assistance is greatly needed and appreciated.

In June, we have several opportunities to help be the hands and feet of Jesus right here on
our own campus. Beginning June 18th until June 23rd, the youth group from Arlington Heights
United Methodist Church will call CCC their home base for the week as they work on several
service projects around the Austin area.

After the youth group rolls out on the morning of the 23rd, the ladies with the leadership team for the Women’s Assembly will roll in to set up for their event on Saturday, June 24th. The Regional Women’s Assembly will be packed with great speakers, wonderful workshops, good food and fantastic fellowship.

In partnership with the women’s service project, we are invited to help provide items for the Inman Christian Center. The Inman Christian Center is a Disciples of Christ community outreach project located in San Antonio.
Inman serves the needs of low-income individuals and families in the inner city by providing
childcare, social services, education, recreation, and emergency food assistance as well as housing
for individuals who are elderly and/or disabled. A list of much needed items is located on the table
outside of the community room. We will collect items until June 24th as the Inman representative
will be at the assembly and will deliver all the donations collected back with them to San Antonio.

In July, we’ll kick off the month with a hamburger and hotdog luncheon on Sunday, July 2nd
so make plans to bring a side dish or dessert to share with everyone. Then, July 17th until July 20th
another youth group from University Christian Church in Fort Worth will call CCC their home base
while they are in Austin for their annual learning and service project trip. I will be reaching out to
you all once we receive a bit more information as to how we may be helpful to them.

Don’t let the summertime slumber settle in just yet as there is much to be involved with
around CCC. Stay tuned for more specific information as to how you can help be the hands and feet
of Jesus to all those visiting our campus this summer.

Shalom,
Pastor Heidi
